This policy explains how personal information provided to LEKKER EVENTS must be handled under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (Act No. 4 of 2013), commonly called POPIA.

Enquiries and bookings
Information you provide when contacting us about our services will be used to address your request. This may include your name, contact details, correspondence and information about your function.
Information supplied for a quotation or booking will be used for that request and the administration of the agreed services, including relevant arrangements, communication and billing.
These purposes cover enquiries concerning sound and PA equipment, DJ services, MC services and background music for corporate events, year-end functions, weddings, birthdays and other celebrations.
Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry or booking.
Providing your information
You can choose whether to contact us and provide information. However, without sufficient contact details or information about your requirements, we may be unable to respond, prepare a quotation or arrange the requested services.
Where particular information is legally required, the applicable requirement must be explained when that information is requested.
Lawful use
Personal information must be relevant to its purpose and processed on a lawful ground recognised by POPIA. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not invalidate earlier lawful processing or processing permitted on another lawful ground.
Disclosure and service providers
Any disclosure of personal information must have a lawful purpose and be limited to what is relevant to that purpose.
Where information is processed on our behalf, the applicable confidentiality and security requirements must be met. Relevant recipients, purposes and any intended international transfers must be disclosed when required by POPIA.
Retention and protection
Personal information must be retained only for as long as necessary, subject to lawful retention exceptions, and then destroyed, deleted or de-identified as required.
POPIA requires appropriate, reasonable security safeguards and notification of qualifying security compromises in accordance with section 22.
Marketing
An enquiry or booking does not automatically provide consent for unsolicited electronic marketing.
Electronic direct marketing must comply with section 69 of POPIA. Consent is required unless the statutory existing-customer exception applies. That exception concerns contact details obtained during a sale, promotion of our own similar services, and opportunities to object at collection and in subsequent marketing communications.

Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable legal requirements and exceptions, you may request access to your personal information, correction or deletion on the grounds provided by POPIA, and object to processing where permitted.

Complaints to the Information Regulator
You may raise a concern with LEKKER EVENTS or complain directly to the Information Regulator.
